Conservation of Historic Buildings and Monuments

Specialists in the Conservation of Stone, Plasters, Leadwork and Decorative Surfaces

''We engaged NSE Contracts Limited, to undertake conservation works to Old Beaupre Castle a Medieval and Tudor manor house which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. This project presented considerable conservation challenges involving the use of delicate conservation and repair techniques to eroding carved stone details, in particular to the extraordinary inner porch. The works were executed under extremely difficult conditions (winter 2010/11) and were completed on time with care and attention to detail.''

P. Hughes BSc Hons,  Conservation & Design Officer/  CADW -  WAG

'' Michael Sheppard managed the work on behalf of the specialist contractor appointed to carry out the restoration work and carried out some of the restoration of the surfaces himself.  The project took two years to complete and is valued at approximately £1.4M.

Michael Sheppard exercised great skill and care in carrying out the work and liaised with the consultants involved in the project and castle management to ensure the work was carried out to the specification and to programme.

I have no hesitation in recommending him to you.''

Anthony Dawkin, Partner, Parry and Dawkin

'' I write to confirm that we have been very pleased with the quality of new leadwork carried out to the main roof and turret roofs during the recent refurbishment of Queen Annes Summerhouse, We would certainly consider using NSE's skills again on future projects''

Alastaier Dick-Cleland, Projects Co-ordinator, The Landmark Trust

''We first came to work with NSE Contracts in May 2009 when the lead from a stable block on the estate had been removed overnight. From the first telephone call to request a site visit , they have been professional, friendly and extremely accommodating. All requests have been delivered and all questions answered in an honest and easy way to understand.

From the three contractors selected to quote for our original job, they were preffered supplier as thier professionalism and ability to work within out limitations shone far above the other two contractors. they have worked closely with our architects to ensure the job was carried out to the very exacting standards required by english heritage and have used thier craftmanship to restore the leas work to the required level.

Their presence on site has been excellent and we have had no problems with thier site conduct. Their general health and safety conduct and awareness of safety issues relating to our visitors was also faultless.

Moggerhanger Park Ltd, on behalf of the Moggerhanger House Preservation Trust, would have no hesitations in recommending NSE Contracts and in having them on site for any futur work required.

NSE Contracts are a professional, trustworthy and friendly team to work with and who have excellent craftmanship and business conduct''

Mrs Carrie Irvin, Bookings and House Manager, Moggerhanger Park Ltd

"We can confirm that NSE carried out re-roofing works to the above noted Government property, circa. £4.2 Mil, replacing several damaged roofs, safely, on time and on budget.

From submitting betterment on design to the finished product, we had no adverse comments whatsoever.

We have had inherent issues regarding the security aspect of the project as it is a government property. NSE took all the required issues on board, and was sensitive to the requirements and we have pleasure in stating that from management through to operatives, NSE met all expectations.

We would have no issues in using NSE on another project in the future".

Paul Tucker, Project Manager, Wates Interiors 16a Great Peter Street, London

"I have known Neil for many years, and our two companys' have worked closely together for a long time now, with NSE covering all our leadwork. Also being an approved contractor for Alkor waterproofing, they cover our single ply work and felt flat roofing also. All their tradesmen are extremely skilled individuals, a pleasure to work with."

Mark Cain, Managing Director, Bedford Roofing Services Ltd

"We requested the help of NSE Leadwork Ltd in February of 2006 during the 30m pound refurbishment of the Luton Hoo Estate. They were punctual, stuck to time schedules and were generally very knowledgeable in their trade. They were also a great help on the design front of many parts of the job, with their up to date knowledge of lead sheet specification. A great ally on this project; true tradesmen"

Paul Hardy, Construction Manager, Cardy Construction Ltd

"We were struggling to find a company to help us with lead down pipes and bespoke cast brackets on a refurb project on a listed building in Cambridge. Their attention to detail was impeccable and the new works matched perfectly in with the old existing leadwork. They are immediately added to our tender list for all future roofing works"

Andy Hill, Managing Director, Hill Partnerships Ltd

''We are pleased to confirm that the works, as carried out by NSE Contracts Limited, have been completed in accordance with our specification of works. This has been carried out to an exceptional stamdart by the workmen involved and to a high level of detail''
